Koons is not to blame. He's maintained his artistry for decades unlike Gagz.

That was the BEST night of the era. I loved the photo and there was sooo much promise in the way she handled the pre-era stage of ARTPOP. Even through the leak of "Applause," until it all went sour with the public clown makeup. That was the beginning of the end, along with the Marina video.

This is or the blonde one with tech headpiece should've been the album cover.

The actual cover is horrible.

This week could be a historic one for digital song sales.

New singles from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are heading for big debuts on Billboard's Digital Songs chart next week -- and both should rack up major sales.

Perry's new single "Roar" hit digital retail at midnight eastern today (Aug. 12), while Lady Gaga's "Applause" is scheduled to make a retail bow on Tuesday (Aug. 13). The latter's arrival is six days before its original release date (Aug. 19).

While it's a bit early in the week to exactly forecast just how big either will be, industry sources suggest each should sell well over 400,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Aug. 18. A start of more than 500,000 for each wouldn't be out of the question either.

The final sales tally for both will be released on the morning of Aug. 21.

If both tunes sell more than 400,000, it would be the first time two songs have debuted in the same week with more than 400,000.

Further, it would mark the first non-holiday week in more than a year where two songs sold more than 400,000. It last happened on the May 5, 2012-dated Digital Songs chart, when Maroon 5's "Payphone" debuted at No. 1 (493,000), pushing Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" down one slot to No. 2 (463,000).

The music itself and its lack of commercial success doesn't seem to bother them that much. Cause that too is just a consequence of the change within Gaga.

I haven't watched an interview since 2012 because she makes me cringe now I wonder if she can turn it around.

If anybody thought 2008-2010 Gaga was the "real her" joke's on them tbh. She was obviously putting a character since the beggining. The only thing that I'm upset about is that she totally diched her inital message that made me love her. The "not giving a ****", "pop music will never be low brow", etc, etc.

The music isn't low brow imo, but her behavior recently has been the very definition of it

But that was her mistake - if your entire act is a character, you COMMIT to it. Her attitude and message in TF/TFM was literally perfect and she should have evolved within that persona, not left it entirely.

 Me too.

I liked how she doing art in minimization and letting people guess for themselves what it was.

That should've been the cover, it is gorgeous.

It doesn't get any more low brow than making memes of yourself.

But don't bury her just yet. Gaga will come back stronger. Unlike Britney, Gaga is ambitious and hungry, she'll amaze us again.
Britney, on the other side, I think she's done for good. She doesn't even look happy on stage

The fact that we're all talking about this is more a testament to how badly she ****ed up than to how big she was, honestly. She had the world at her feet, but proceeded to trip over it.

200m richer than any of these **** though. Her glory days were good. She made good stuff pre ARTPOP.

What turned me off was how someone so expensive and well detailed could turn cheap overnight. It makes me think that she wasn't responsible for her looks and her video themes because that sort of aesthetic is not something you just lose.

The thing is Gaga's always been weird, artsy, and pretentious. Back in 2008 it was so refreshing to see Gaga be Gaga. She had catchy songs and a mystique to her. On top of that people were saying, 'hey, this girl can actually sing.' Overnight Gaga went from party girl to mega star sensation.

ARTPOP doesn't tap into her ability to be refreshing or interesting. DWUW was refreshing, and so was its video. I'd love to hear more of that, or something more left field while sounding good (so not The Queen type crap).

Yup another thing. To go from Paparazzi to MTN/Y&I... Even Applause is visually pretty boring and one-note. Her visuals went down the drain, her creativity died. She went crazy.
