It really does sicken me how harsh people can be on her or say she's looking for attention or deserves what she gets when she shares some of her pain. I could never imagine how difficult it must be to be under such public scrutiny and have to deal with personal conflicts on top of it. God bless her and I hope she's in a good place now.

She says she was depressed in that interview but hasn't she been depressed for her whole career? I'm pretty sure every year since 2010-2011 she's claimed to be depressed

I'm sure she's not only depressed but in a hard place in her life. But she's not really alone. When you have a schedule like hers where you're constantly working day in and day out with expectations through the roof, how would you deal? I'm sure to an extent many other popstars are just as or maybe even more depressed. Why do you think they resort to drug use and such other behaviors?

Of course, but she did say she was depressed during TFM and BTW eras as well. I think it's a big reason why she's been so successful, the music on TFM is dark, I don't think you can write that from a completely happy/stable place.

That does make sense. Her music this time around was a lot more happy but it was also more chaotic. Which is weird since I truly thought Born This Way was as crazy as it could get for her.

From the magazine it seems her depression is due to the fact that her team isn't as involved in what she wants. Which is odd because we've always thought she worked around yes-men. I'm starting to think it's the exact opposite and that everything she does is falling apart because of the people she's being told to work with. Gaga's the type of creative artist that her work is affected by her environment. (It's shows through because she writes all of her material pretty much 100%)

Dope really isn't as sad as it sounds tho. Like, the piano is somber and she sings it drunk, but it is a song about overcoming her own addiction instead of succumbing to it. Of course it sounds sad but it is really enlightening. Dope comes off like a ballad SPECIFICALLY to Taylor imho.

Before Gaga I never cared about pop music. I was only really into rock and rap music. But then I became a casual fan during TFM era because she was always putting on an amazing show and I found the music to be enjoyable. The 2010 MTV awards was the first one I ever watched and was blown away that she could have all the spotlight without having to even perform.

When BTW came out I became a full on stan not because of the music (which is great) but because of what she stood for. This was a woman who would dedicate her album to help others feel excepted and loved during a time when she had pop culture at it's knee's. She could have easily made something safe and generic that wouldn't cause her too much backlash and continue her unrelenting reign but instead decided to use the immense amount of power she had to create an album that gave voice against the injustices that are happening all over the world when it comes to intolerance and hate. I will always stan and respect this woman because she cared more for speaking out on something that is right than protect her career from any potential harm.

Sorry for the LM.com sized mess of a rant. I just get frustrated by all the undeserved hate she gets. Let me just go into my corner and be silent.

Yeah I would have to agree I didn't become a full time stan until BTW that's when I started using Gagadaily every single day and eventually ATRL.
However I ****ing LOVED her during her 1st 2 eras I just didn't publicize it online

I think the reason why I listen to her so much is because my mom and I had ran away to a domestic abuse shelter and I remember we bought a radio with us. I'd hear Poker Face on the radio like all the time. When we got the chance we bought The Fame and listened to it over and over and over again. It was a rough time but her music was so fun, really helped me get through a rough patch.

She could've easily made another Pop album and ruled the charts but she didn't.
