Zac Efron has confirmed he is in talks with producers about possibly appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII. Speaking to MTV, the actor said he was keen to join the cast but had not yet been told whether he had got the role.

He also confirmed rumours that Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons (Todd) was being considered for a role.
Something like this would be an absolute dream of mine. Both have been my obsessions since early childhood and the thought of them going together is.. He looks enough like Mark Hamill (before he had his facial injury) that it could work quite well as his son.
People would SLAM it for being too cheesy. However, I think it would be great to have him in it even though it would definitely draw some people back from watching it.
The other names they have listed on the website that casting has admitted as being in strong consideration are Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch and Simon Pegg. As well as Aaron Paul, who I quoted in the article. All decent choices imho.
