My No.1 pick is Hillary Clinton. The most powerful of all FLOTUS's. No other First Lady served in the U.S. cabinet, was elected to the Senate, and came close and has another shot at the presidency
itself. She played a pivotal role in policy making in her husband's administration, including health care, and was a huge factor in getting major bills passed through Congress.
The runner up goes to Eleanor Roosevelt. Truly a woman before her time. She was outspoken, spoke up for women and minorities, and was the first First Lady to hold press conferences, write a syndicated column, and speak at a national convention. She was held in high regard and had almost universal respect.
My No. 3 pick goes to Jackie Kennedy. Boy was Jack's wife beautiful. Perhaps the most stylish and elegant First Lady. Her pill box hats are iconic and she became a symbol of fashion for women worldwide during her husband's presidency.
My No. 4 pick goes to Michelle Obama. A historic First Lady, as the first African American woman to serve in the position she is unforgettable. She has been an advocate for childhood obesity, nutrition, and healthy eating.
And my No.5 pick goes to Nancy Reagan. She took on the most critical issue of her era, drugs, and played a crucial role in the staffing of the White House.
