For me and my best friend ex girlfriends are off limits. But once my best friend got so pissed at me because I stayed friends with his ex girlfriend after they broke up. The thing is that we were friends way before they were even together, and they got together because of me. Now he is friends with his ex girlfriend and we all chill together. But that was an exception and from now on we agree that we can't date or be friends with any of our exes.
well the way I see it is if it didn't work out with your friend hypothetically speaking this is a very close friend or a best friend), then it most likely won't work out for you.

Exactly this. I would be so pissed if my friend had stabbed me in the back like that. However if it was years ago, I would probably careless.
But that was an exception and from now on we agree that we can't date or be friends with any of our exes.
Even if it really was a good breakup, I like to cut all ties regardless.
