I don't know if I would say its the worst, but music definitely isn't as good or has as many memorable songs as it used to. I feel like there's too much of a focus on ratchet/catchy and generic radio songs as opposed to songs that actually matter. 2013 I thought was a pretty bad year for music but then again I might be biased since I grew up mostly on 90's, early 00's music

Those aren't great songs though. Some of them are good, others are OK and other are meh.

And the second half of 2012 is self-explanatory because she released an entire album during that time.

You're being silly if you think a song like "I Will Always Love You" was considered a classic a month after it was released. Only time will tell which songs of our generation will be remembered.
And so far, I don't think it's the worst decade on pop...Only tumblr music snobs say that. Who knows if someday we'll be saying "ugh, I miss real music can we go back to the 2010's with Adele and Beyoncé, bwaaah!".
Look at some of the 2013 1#s. "Royals", "Roar", "Wrecking Ball", "Just Give Me A Reason", etc. you might like them or not but they're meaningful pop songs. This isn't 2010. The GP isn't consuming just songs about going to the club.

I guess you could be right… but do you really think that there's a chance that people gonna consider the 2010s as the period of "real music" over the 90s-2000s?

Well, some will, and some won't.

I mean, several of the hits of 2010 have already been swept into the dustbin of history. You never really hear 'Cooler Than Me', 'In My Head', 'OMG' or 'Like a G6' anymore, do you?

That said, I can see a decent number of hits from this decade sticking around for the next couple decades (Tik Tok, Rolling in the Deep, Firework, Just the Way You Are, Call Me Maybe and Get Lucky, just to name a few).
