In the same year you signed with Warner Bros. Records, with whom you released your debut Album Beg, Borrow and Steal.
The debut single from the album, ‘**** U Betta’, is very strong and expressive but it is also tinged with heartache. You seem to have moved on past that and seem to be in a much more positive and self-assured place, considering the song ‘Gold’. Is that an accurate observation?
I am glad you asked me that and I am going to tell you something that I have not told anyone else yet. I have a brand new album and have scrapped the whole Beg, Borrow and Steal album completely. I have made an entire new album from scratch, as I felt there was not enough of my soul in Beg, Borrow and Steal. The songs were great but there was not enough of my story in then. I want to be true to myself and really show who I am in my songs. The album is due out next year and I am in studio constantly preparing for that. I have a mixtape out now, called 301 to Paradise, which is a very good taster of what is to come on the album.
