Hey so basically if I have posted this in the wrong section, it's by accident.

Anyway, my dream career path is to work in the music industry, at the moment i'm still at University studying, and I really need to get some work experience or a placement / internship.

I was wondering if anyone here has ever done one?, who with? and if they have any advice for me on how to get one, as it seems like i'm a needle in a huge haystack.

Any serious advice or past experiences would really be appreciated (I live in London btw)

I'm in the same position as you, I have applied for a lot of positions but so far I've got nothing

I thought people on here would have loads to say, especially how some always say they work for labels or are journalists and thats how they get demos and samplers sigh

Unfortunately, I think it all has to do with who you know. If you're able to go to different music events (i.e.: music festivals) and network with different people, it increases your chances significantly, as opposed to just submitting an online application that gets filed away. I'd like to work in the music industry eventually too, but it's an industry that's notoriously difficult to get into.

yeah, sigh I totally agree with you 100%, it really is about who you know and networking, I was hoping someone would actually say "this is the first thing I did that got the ball rolling for me..."
