According to Ray Hair, president of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), the show’s 28 musicians, singers and arrangers have been given notice that they won’t be back.
Members of the Harold Wheeler Orchestra and Singers reportedly received an email on Jan. 30 from Wheeler informing them of a decision by ABC/Disney to replace the band with a “small electronic band” and recorded music.
There has been no announcement from ABC/Disney or the show’s production company, BBC Worldwide.
I am beyond thrilled at this news, I was never a weekly watcher, but every time I tuned in, I witnessed several of my favorite songs absolutely MURDERED, I'm glad they finally found that singer guilty and served them a life sentence ban.

NO this is bad. For the more dramatic instrumental pieces, the band brought those songs to life. NOTHING beats a live band no matter how bad the singing is (which it wasn't even that bad last season, they used a lot of songs straight from the source and rarely used live singers).
Live arrangements > Playing a song with no change at all.
They should just ax the whole damn show! Their salsa nights.... I swear to God the second hand embarrassment I received listening to them **** up classic Latin sounds!!
