Britney's status as a tabloid staple kept her relevant. This will not be the case for Gaga. Their paths aren't similar.

Again, like I said there was a huge anticipation for Bionic. If anything that's what was its downfall because the expectations did not line up with the initial perception of the album through its lead single. People had even thought Christina had reinvented herself as an electronica artist named iamwhoiam.
Beyonce faced that same problem too with her latest album and if she had released it a normal way instead of the unorthodox way she did, she could have likely gone down that same path.
And if the thirst for Beyonce seemed higher to you while she was away with her baby, you have to remember how Beyonce has changed from the time after 4. She's a much bigger celebrity before now because of that baby. There wasn't even this kind of anticipation for 4. That baby was debuted on national TV and then the resulting scandal over whether the baby is real or not has given her a level of celebrity of attention she didn't have before. She used to be so low key as a celeb...even to the point where she wouldn't even really acknowledge Jay-Z as her romantic interest until they got married!
And I would hope Gaga wouldn't take Britney's path to maintaining relevancy

Maintaining relevancy as a tabloid figure is extremely dangerous and it basically ruined Britney's life

and will always leave a negative mark on her legacy.
And Gaga seems very self aware (even if others may disagree with the level of it) and in tune with what's going on with the world and retaining touch with the public. If she was one of those really reclusive divas, then I could see your point. But as long as Gaga maintains her connection to the public, I don't think she'll fade like that.
