First and foremost, rap stans shouldn't even claim Grammys so hard when we've established the best rappers don't even have Grammys (For example: Tupac, Biggie and even Nas who has more than deserved a Grammy). It's become more of a mainstream, throwaway award for rap music instead of actually commending great rap talent.

Missy was mainstream as hell and that's the main reason she even has any Grammys. Lil Kim shares her Grammy. Let's not even go any further. Point being, don't sit on Grammy receipts when there's more to being respected and successful as a female rapper like the actual music itself. And by my count, Nicki has been racking in the acclaim yearly since her debut.


If she chooses not to help female rappers who can barely get their own buzz, then that's her choice and it's a fair choice. It's like me doing a group project by myself because I'm the only smart person in the group. Why should everyone else get a good grade without doing any work?

I just take issue with the idea that she's somehow opening doors and has earned her place among the greats. It's important to have proper respect for the era females that came before (Latifah, Kim, Missy) and ran the game when women weren't doing that previously. These women put lots of shine on one another and passed the mic. I hope - and believe - that Nicki will one day earn her rap acclaim pass the mic to the next generation.

But that's exactly what the article said. That PTAF got signed from Nicki. You can't deny that these labels are now signing more females are witnessing the success Nicki has achieved. Nobody is insulting anybody that came before Nicki. We're talking about the present, at the moment.
