78Violet - Debut EP Release Date Coming In February
Well the wait is almost over for the Michalka's return to the music industry, this extended play will follow up their single release of the song "Hothouse" last July, and will introduce a new twist on the sound they have recently picked up; (An indie/folk pop sound). We can speculate their will be a single to promote this EP with an announcement regarding the music in the coming weeks. Here is what AJ told to OK! Magazine that was published today:
"K!: Fair enough! The fans want to know—what’s up next for 78Violet?
AM: Oh gosh, writing recording. That’s everyone’s answer but we’re going to be releasing an EP in the next few months so were honing in on what were putting out. It’s been a long wait but we’re a new band now so I don’t feel like it’s been a long wait because in a way it’s just a new introduction. We released a song on our own in July called “Hothouse” and it was just a cool way to introduce our new sound and something that our fans deserved. So we’ll release more this year and will be playing live shows later this year."
"OK!: Does the EP have a release date?
AM: It’s up in the air. We’ll have a release date in the next month, but it’s up in the air until we lock it down."
Here is the song Hothouse she mentioned in the article:
Here is another of their song's (It is a favorite form literally everyone who has heard it!!! No joke...it is also preformed live with no vocal correction...) it is called Boy, I am sure it will be a smash when it is officially released ...:
Anyways just thought I would give you guys a heads up, it has been awfully quite lately
EP? :noparty Nooo... I need that full album, gals. It's been way too long for some little EP.
Hothouse was a cute song but it got old kinda quickly. I miss their pop-rock sound already. Hopefully they serve been some FTP/fun. type of Indie.
It's going to have 5-9 tracks... Less then 10 though, that's all we have heard. Oh and the executive producer is now
Mike Einziger...the guy who produced and co-wrote Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' ...I think their new-new sound will kick major ass
wtf is taking so long tho...the entire ALBUM was finished in spring of last year
Their pool of finished songs was only around 13 total. Not all of those were on par with each other. They put out Hothouse and put on the live shows to get label's attention. They are still in negotiations with labels (or they secretly have one and have yet to announce it).
I can't share where they are at in the recording process but they are doing what needs to be done in order to score a label and release music that gets properly promoted to their liking.
(I run the fan account that Aly replied to confirming this news was outdated above).
