Are they supposed to be representations of the party as a whole though? I mean, look at Christie - there's no excuse that his administration did in fact make a mistake, but is that necessarily indicative of the whole Republican party?

It's a big story because his childish administration heavily impacted people's lives during the days of the closure.



And we'll all support Democratic nominees over Republicans any day because the Republicans in general are not willing to support equality for all. It's not that difficult to understand.

Rubio only even takes in 8% of current Republican-leaning votes. He's not a major threat yet by any means. He could very well be a major player in the election, but there's a reason threads like this exist - a reason Christie is being scrutinized so highly for this scandal. Christie himself was not actually that much of a threat to Hillary in the first place, but he was their biggest weapon at the moment and his chances are already being chipped away by these new details coming to light.
