Christie Knew About Bridge Lane Closings
Quote:
The former Port Authority official who personally oversaw the lane closings on the George Washington Bridge in the scandal now swirling around Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey said on Friday that the governor knew about the lane closings when they were happening, and that he had the evidence to prove it.
In a letter released by his lawyer, the official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christie’s who was appointed with the governor’s blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago.
“Mr. Wildstein contests the accuracy of various statements that the governor made about him and he can prove the inaccuracy of some,” the letter added.

It's like God herself is paving a smooth road for Hillary '16 taking out her biggest competitor like that
all we need is for Elizabeth Warren to co-sign a Clinton candidacy, and it's Hillary till 2024

Paul Ryan & Marco Rubio are still big threats though, but I agree

Independents don't like Ryan.
And conservatives/racists wouldn't vote for someone they think is Cuban (Commie) or Mexican (illegal).
Christie, imo, was the only threat

People said the same thing about conservatives voting for a woman with Sarah Palin and they loved her at the time. McCain even led the polls until the economy tanked. Herman Cain even led the polls at one point until he flubbed so I wouldn't just count Rubio out just because he's Cuban. He's the biggest threat to Democrats' Hispanic vote. And certainly they'd vote for a Cuban over a woman
Also, here's a poll saying Independents actually like Ryan but didn't like his plan at the time. By 2016, no one would have remembered his plan and he could potentially smooth talk his way to winning.

It's different now, imo, because Rush and his crowd did a real number on Rubio with the Dream Act thing he was trying to urge the house republicans to consider. They basically painted him as a fellow illegal immigrant. And now, he's run so far right (as a result), that it will be hard explaining his 180 degree change.
I agree that Paul Ryan is quite intelligent (sounding) and has a good way of making ******** sound legit, but his policies are still too extreme for most Americans imo. His proposals for social security and medicare alone will lose him Florida. + Hillary has no problem with the white vote and the old vote (which was Obama's problem at times).

I see what you're saying. I'm just always scared everyone is too confident that Hillary will win. I guess Hillary, since no credible Democrat will even think of running against her, has the advantage of being able to raise money all during the primaries while the Republicans attack each other.

Oh yeah, I totally get what you were saying. After 2008, it's been quite clear Hillary may be the only powerful person who is still powerful despite having a knack for snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
I can see Warren pulling a surprise run and giving Hillary a run for her money. In a perfect World, Warren would win and have total power to change the way things are run in this country, but Warren is simply too liberal to ever win or do anything with that power, so I hope for the sake of the country, she doesn't run at all.

Of course he did - I didn't know anyone believed his claims that he didn't.

Perhaps threats, yes, but not as big as Christie may have become.

Oh, definitely! Hillary's not the perfect candidate by any means and one or two others would be better in principle, but the fact that she's destroyed her competition before even running while the Republican competition is just destroying itself will be a huge benefit to her in the end. Elections are almost three years away and she's already put the other Dems in the dust, at least for now.

It would lose
One female at the top of the ticket is pushing it for America and Warren is too liberal.
