Honestly, Madonna made no impact single wise. No kids know what Vogue, Like a Prayer, etc is. Only gays and old people, to say Madonna will be completely forgotten in 20 years isn't crazy.
A huge portion of today's kids prob know what AIWFC, Always Be My Baby, and Hero are.
Always Be My Baby is definitely a known and remembered hit today.
I had never heard of that song until I got into Mariah's discography thanks to ATRL. Just like how you had never heard of Like a Prayer and Like a Virgin.

I knew Like A Virgin, Material Girl, Into The Groove, Express Yourself and Ray Of Light before any Mariah song, but i still don't see how it matters, both of them are legends for different reasons
Madonna is a legend for her influence on performers and being the women to push envelopes while Mariah is a legend for her influence in vocals.
Mariah is not a legend and will never be. Not everyone who is successful or has longevity is a legend. Legend is a BIG title. For example P!nk will also never be a legend.
I also think Beyonce is/will be a legend so maybe my standards are too low lol but Moo is a legend to me. She has the success and the impact. She just lacks the iconography/pop culture moments that Madonna excelled in. I think maybe since she lacks that, that's why people don't consider her legendary.
That is a definite no.
