From the albums list I love Stars Dance + Eminem's album, both are good.

ALBUMS!

Love the Beyonce album like everyone else and glad you found a way to include it. I really love the Eminem album, too, and am glad you picked it. It has dodgy moments, but then i'm a sucker for Rick Rubin flipping old classic rock samples. The Paramore album is really great. Yeezus is incredible, and I love the She & Him album a lot. I loved the Yeahs album, even if it didn't live up to their past triumphs. You're right about the Gaga album, though it has some good songs. I like the Savages album. Sky Ferreira is really great, and I have really enjoyed everything i've heard. Though that cover, while I understand its artistic purpose and think it's the perfect cover for the album, it has made going on music blogs/sites in public a difficult task lmao! The week that album came out was like landmine central, to quickly X out of tabs. Good thing i'm typing this from home! I love the Janelle Monae album. And then The Band Perry! Maybe my favourite album listed so far. That's just a perfect pop-country album. So many great songs. They really took a big creative leap with Pioneer, and I can't wait for what's next from them. And i've like what i've heard from the Sleigh Bells and Phoenix albums.

I haven't heard some of these, with the album that sounds most exciting to me is the Hannah Georgas album! Your commitment to supporting Canadian female singer/songwriters is long-standing, and Georgas sounds like another good one. NEED TO CHECK IT OUT!

Daft Punk and Janelle Monae! Great albums

This set has a lot of albums i'm not currently familiar with, which I think is great. Like, I had no idea Little Boots put out a new album! I checked out songs from both Darling Parade and Boy, and I like them both! Thanks for the HEADS-UP. As for the albums I know, I like what i've heard from Charli XCX's album. She is great on Danny Brown's album, too. Serena Ryder, yeah!! I'm glad "Stompa" was a big hit for her this year, as she's been plugging away on Canadian radio (mostly CBC) for a long time now. She is great! The Katy Perry album def had some great songs on it. I shouldn't like her, but she has become such a pro, and the songs she puts out are just so infectious. UNDENIABLE. And then, the Daft Punk album. What can you even say, it's the best! Very happy for their success this year.

Excited for THE FINAL TEN ALBUMS!

That's all for TC's top 40 albums of 2013! I love reviewing the year in music and sharing it with you all, so I'm glad I was able to do it again for the 11th consecutive year. Thank you so much for reading, and have a great 2014 and beyond.

Chvrches - my current obsession, and has been for a couple months now; it's just not getting old. One of the few albums I can put on and listen to in its entirety. Almost the same with Pure Heroine, but I tend to skip a couple tracks on that. First time hearing about MS MR; will definitely check them out.

This is a pretty solid top 10 and overall list. Well done.

THE TOP TEN!

I haven't heard Sara Bareilles' album, but I like everything i've heard from her. I haven't heard of MS MR (good name!), but it sounds good! I know you have always been a big champion of Macklemore, so its placement is deserved. Speaking of championing artists, Icona Pop! I first heard of them through you, and then the Girls episode happened, and then THE REST IS HISTORY. The Neko Case album is tremendous, easily one of the year's best. Good thoughts on it, "Man" indeed is a great anthem. I have to agree with your Arcade Fire thoughts, as I was also initally disappointed by the album, due to the insane expectations. It is indeed a good album, though, and you highlight some of my favourite songs on it. Lorde was def one of the biggest stories of 2013, and while I haven't heard the album yet, I do like "Royals." CHVURCES! The best! Such catchy and fun music. Haim are so great. I haven't listened to their album as much as I should have, but I really enjoy what i've heard. Their SNL performances were excellent; they can [i[shred.[/i] And indeed, the #1 is not at all a surprise, but just because it isn't a surprise doesn't mean it isn't well deserved! What a fantastic album. I love watching them breakout more with each year. I first saw them on The Wedge, and you first saw them on Subthingy (or was it 120 Minutes?), and now they are legit pop stars. So well deserved. And that you got to meet them in 2013 is such a wonderful moment. I'm happy that were also really nice and great people, as much as you think they would be.

A fantastic close to the eleventh edition of the year-end! I am glad you were able to do a full list, even on a shortened timetable. SOME IRONMAN ****. I think you can now do the New York City Marathon thanks to doing this year-end so quickly. Because clearly, typing write-ups for a year-end and training for a marathon are the same thing. Anyway, another A+ year-end! I hope to see the TWELFTH EDITION later this year (or in January 2015 haha)!

I need to listen to Secondhand Rapture, The Worst Things Get and Heartthrob, I liked most of the singles I've heard from each one.
