Trini Trent talks Beyoncé x objectification of women
Quite an interesting video and the geezer raises several notable points. I'm also interested in hearing your views, not just on Beyoncé's performance but on the treatment of women in media as a whole and if women aren't helping themselves by dressing provactively?
Or as some commentators have said, is this merely a new form of Feminism where one is empowered by their physical presence and wish to make that fundamentally clear? Or do you see Feminism as more in the vein of a Lauryn Hill; Angie Stone; Oprah who have empowered the female fully clothed?
To Beyonce being "naked"
-She was really covered from neck to feet. Nothing was revealing about her upper half and it was clear that her lower half used dark coloured tights to make her legs look more covered. There is no skin showing.
To Jay-Z being fully clothed
-When has he ever not performed fully clothed? That's not his style. If he's always shirtless (like Lil Wayne) then so what?
To the issue of taking your clothes for empowerment:
-There's a difference between being told to wear a bikini to please men and a woman choosing a bikini on her own accord. Just because men want to see women naked, doesn't mean that women who like being naked are doing it for men.
In regards to men vs. women selling sex:
-Jay-Z isn't a popstar so doesn't sell sex. Britney, Katy, Rihanna, etc. do as do Trey Songz, Justin Bieber, Usher, Justin Timberlake (less so now). It's not that different.
About Beyonce not being this "naked" or "sexual" until Rihanna:
-See: Baby Boy music video. She's been as naked and generally as sexual for so long. Maybe not as explicit.
About Beyonce objectifying herself onstage instead of in private:
-What Beyonce does is pop entertainment. The fact remains that sexuality is entertaining. There is a reason why we as humans are constantly thinking about it, why we love doing it, and seek it out whenever we can. It feels good and it's also entertaining. Beyonce's goal is to go onstage and give a great show. Using sex is perhaps an easy way to do this, but the difficulty is not the issue is it?
About Jay-Z dancing for Beyonce:
-I doubt anyone wants to see this. I think if Beyonce had married a dancer she would use his dancing skills to effect. But he's a rapper.
Conclusion:
-Beyonce may not represent all the feminist ideals all at once. She may play the part of the object in a performance but I missed the part in feminism where a woman couldn't play that role if she wanted to and still remain a feminist. Beyonce is not a textbook. She's a human with her own choices and desires.

Couldn't have said it better myself. And there's a reason why feminism doesn't have a set definition/rules. It doesn't have a strict guide and can be expressed in many ways.
He is so stupid. I remember he had a youtube video talking about Beyonce was scared to release an album and that the GP was not here for her anymore. What does he have against this woman...????
To say that Beyonce's submissiveness is somehow unfeminist is like saying that a bottom is making themselves worth less to society than a top, and we all know that is not true. People just need to accept that Beyonce is a power-bottom.
Also Beyonce has plenty of lines on her new album which denote that she is receiving her share of sexual dominance:
-Yoncé all on his mouth like liquor
-English translation: Men think that feminists hate sex,
But it's a very stimulating and natural activity that women love
-keep me coming, keep me going
-Can you eat my skittles
It's the sweetest in the middle
-I can't wait till I get home so you can tear that cherry out,
-Climb until you reach my peak, babe, the peak, babe, the peak
All these lines denote that she is receiving some sexual favour from her man and/or that she is controlling the situation.
I hate people like him, he claims to hate Beyonce but every video on his site mentions her, and he tweets about her all day. He's clearly pressed or an undercover fan.

!!
Most of her haters make threads and posts about her, even though they hate her.
