Kids are too young to be pushed into things like this. There were better ways of handling it, but instead Disney is choosing to impose and influence little kids' minds, rather than let them think for themselves. The topic is incredibly mature and for children to be exposed to it after seeing the conventional family structure would most likely make them feel uncomfortable, and end up backfiring.

Um, I'm pretty sure media representation is not pushing things on anyone. Was it pushing it when TV shows portrayed people of different races sitting at the same places in restaurants?
Think of the queer children who have to grow up feeling like an other, an outsider, because there's nothing in media aimed at them to relate to how they feel.
