It never happened to me, but my best friend would never.

For me, it'd depend on the situation.

If I was in a committed long term relationship, and my bestfriend knew that I still love him I'd be upset. I'd try my best to be happy for my best friend and ex, but I'd find it really awkward, and I wouldn't really know what to say to them. Eventually I'd get over it, but I'd definitely be hurt, though I don't think I'd ever try to get revenge.

I would not be cool with it. I don't care how long I dated them or what the circumstances of the breakup are. If you're my friend and you're willing to take my sloppy seconds, then you are a shady person and don't deserve to be in my life.

LOL @ people in this thread under the assumption that their ex is their "property" or "scented mark", so to speak. At the end of the day, they are individuals capable of making their own decisions, and if your best friend somehow decided to date your ex, then what the Sanrio hell gives you any position to reprimand them? You are no longer in a committed relationship with, therefore that is a completely selfish act on your part.

It's not about ownership or anything; at least not for me. It's more so the fact that they would willingly be with somebody who potentially hurt me or I could still have feelings for. It depends on the amount of time that has passed, too. If it's somebody I dated years and years ago, that's one thing. But if it was an ex from the past year, it could still be a fresh wound.
