Don't judge us.

We don't get snow everyday. Our infrastructure nor our DOT are prepared for such weather. It's nothing to drive in snow. That wasn't the problem. The problem was the black ice that soon ensued. I don't give a **** if you stay in Antarctica and drive on the **** everyday, driving on ice is always going to be a struggle especially when you're hilly like Metro Atlanta.

I do partially blame the Government and school officials though... talking about they didn't have ample time to prepare. Motha****as I knew it was going to snow Sunday night so I KNOW your asses had to know something. You could've at least tried to pre-treat the major routes.

Why?

When it snows, just drive on the street really slowly... there's really nothing else to it.

Same goes for ice, just drive slowly. I was driving 30km/hr last week during the snow storm here.

I just find the difference so amazing. Like, 2 inches of snow in one place is a complete and utter disaster of epic proportions, but 3 feet of snow where I live is considered a minor inconvenience and my workplace would definitely still be open.

Did the south not even bother sprinkling some table salt? I mean, they knew this was coming.

Like I said, the DOT ****ed up and didn't do **** to prepare.

It's not the snow. When it comes to driving in the snow, all you have to do is drive slower; however, the roads are literally frozen over (overpasses and bridges notably)... Trucks jackknifed because they have on tire friction and you can't really go anywhere with mulitple big ass 18 flipped over across the highways.

theres like barely any snow, how the **** did they get stuck?! Ive never seen people cope so badly with a little snow Theres at least 3 feet of snow where I am and Im still going to school everyday and nobody is even talking about it. Its cold af but the snow is just whatever. Im in Ontario btw so im not an Inuit or some ****

They're stuck because of the icy roads.

As for some northerners laughing over "just two inches of snow," we aren't use to driving on icy roads like that. Snow vs. black ice are two complete different things. Car accidents and pile ups will back traffic up. It's reasons like this why some southern states and counties have issued "curfews" and discouraged people from being on the road, period. Because of that inexperience, things like this happen in larger cities. I mean, we're better equipped to handle hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods, not winter mixes.

They don't sell the all-weathered conditioned tires or ice scrapers as much as they have them available up north. There is this thing called, SUPPLY AND DEMAND. If the demand isn't there, the supply won't either. We don't have the city or state government getting salk trucks to scatter salt on roads/highways/freeways to help with traffic flow. The knowledge of how to weather such storms won't be common for southerners. Same goes for earthquakes that the west coasters are accustom to.

Funny, the panic and handling of "just" category 1/2 hurricane Sandy was "something" to watch. Category 3? Maybe we can talk, but 4 and 5 will have you feelin' some type of way.

Atlanta isn't equipped for any kind of snowstorm and all cities in the South aren't.
At least read the article so you can know how bad it is for them before making a foul of yourselves

I understand they're not equipped, but it's still such a foreign concept for people who deal with more snow every year.

Yea, I get it, just like it seemed "foreign" watching NJ, NY, etc. weather a category 2 hurricane, which is really nothing to be honest. I mean, when you have lived through some category 4 and 5 hurricanes, a two ain't nothing but a windy day with some water.
