Writing in a relatable, easy to sing a long way is not talent

Anyway I think Lana because of her songwriting, vision and unique voice. (Katy's voice is also unique tho.)

Lana has more musicianship and her writing is at least more creative.

Both have their +ve and -ve points, but if I look back at the recent Oscar nominations and Grammy awards, if Young and Beautiful had of managed to get the Oscar nomination or Grammy award, I would have said it was well deserved. But of course it's always tough going up against Adele.

But it Katy had managed to win Best Pop Solo Performance or Song of the Year for Roar, that would have been even more ridiculous than Macklemore getting four Grammys and Kendrick getting none.

I'd say it's more of a talent than naming dead American celebrities and creating controversial and edgy sounding (but rather meaningless) lyrics.

I mean, at least Katy's lyrics are relatable, like you said.

I could NEVER stan for either but Katy I guess....
