Maybe it's because I wasn't crazy about Get Lucky. The beat for Fashion is like a watered down version of that. And yeah her vocals are cringey.

A song about dressing up, runways, "slay". The majority of her discography, at least before Born this Way, ain't that kitsch. Maybe Boys Boys Boys but at least her vocals there are cool and very pop. There's also Vanity and Fashion, but they were rejected from The Fame for a reason. Even on BTW, only the bonus tracks and the title song really come close to this level of campiness. That's part of what's so special about Gaga, she's cooky and weird, but manages (or managed) to be cool, not camp.

Sorry, I think many of us just all fell in love with the novelty of it all. Her music from The Fame days screams GHEY all over it. Sure there's a big difference from then and now but I don't think it has anything to do with her being campy.

The only overtly kitsch songs to me were Disco Heaven and BBB tbh (and Vanity + Fashion but they were rejected from TF) Maybe it's in how she delivered (vocals/looks) it that made it seem less camp. But yeah I'll stop, was just responding to as to why some people might not like it (Fashion!) and then got carried away

I do love Fashion! still, it's actually one of my faves on the album

Not sure. It could actually maybe be a hit with all of the counter culture building up for the legalization of Marijuana and the process its currently going through at the moment.
