Tbh, I wondered how much the word "flop" bothered her. After all, I think we can all agree that ARTPOP was/is not a flop per say. It definitely underperforms and can be regarded as a flop by some people comparing it with her other albums. The same people tend to forget about the famous Amazon discount, about the fact she released BTW after hyping it for months over and over again and that she was still back then a relatively new face on the market. People were interested.
Now, I'm not saying she shouldn't be offended. She worked for her success. However, sometimes I feel like she should really get over it, move on and obey the rules, IF she wants to be on top again.
Back to her reacting to "flop". She would not use the "Lady Gaga is over" trick , if she would not be sure that ARTPOP will explode and sell just as much as BTW, or even 3/4 of it. Instead, she sold 550k WW. And when we add what you mentioned, which is people turning their backs on her, we've got a perfect storm.That's what we've got.
