Shakira's She-Wolf was nowhere near the top 100 on itunes before the video was released but as soon as it was, the song rebounded to number 4 on Itunes. Crtfy has had better radio support thus far and continues to be added on the daily. Compare that with She wolf and its clear its not ovah for the generation's Latin Madonna and Black Madonna.

But.. If it doesnt rebound, is Shakira's U.S. relevance OVER?

Can she or will she recooperae her relevancy with the US public?

If the video doesn't help, she should pull a rush-ish release a la Dark Horse, and then debut her new single on The Voice.

I think this will still have some success still. If it doesn't smash, Truth or Dare has a good shot if she releases it as the follow-up closer to summer with promotion on The Voice. She's already a household name in the US.. Everyone knows who Shakira is, so it won't be the end of her if CRTFY ends badly.

No, it's just a bad song and a weak first single. If the song was a pop smash or something a la Hips Don't Lie it would smash hard. Besides, CRTFY is a summer song released in the dead middle of winter

I still don't understand why she released this song as a first single. Not only is the song not good, but no way should your first single be a feature, this song should've been the 3rd or 4th single release tbh. You shouldn't need to sell a single or album off the strength of another artist.
