Please! He had a moderate hit where he preached to the gay community and told them what's best for them as if he were entitled to do that. We do not owe him anything, he has not done 1/100th of what an actual gay person does by coming out to the people in their life. We do not have to accept all support, especially if the support is misguided and harmful (like Macklemore's total exclusion of trans people, or him ignoring other far more pressing concerns apart from marriage, or erasing the existence of LGBT hip-hop artists in his song by saying that 'rap hates gays', or never acknowledging those artists). He is NOT above criticism.

To say the singer of "Same Love" is homophobic is ludacris, regardless of what his Twitter says. I doubt someone who hated gay people would want one of the biggest songs of his career to be about gay people. You can get a hit song on other subject material.
