I'm getting a headache from all the people on ATRL who harp on about relatable lyrics. It doesn't make your music any better, if anything it makes it more characterless if overplayed.

Old Gaga wasn't relatable either lyrically. 'I want your ugly, I want you disease'... People just loved it because she was an enigmatic character and the lyrics adhered to that perception; they became invested in the character.
