Ok, if you bring your sales receipts let me tell you I have been reading that 90's album sales was much bigger and all of that, well it's alright, but digital sales are much bigger NOW, so you can't compare any of the singles in terms of sales.
Then, I'm pretty sure that if you live the euphoria for Britney during the end of the 90's and the early 00's you are going to understand the power of the song, the video and the red suit, while Adele... And you can't see the future to tell if Adele is going to be covered in a few years, but you can't look at the past and the present and you will find that even in our days Britney's peak (which is BOMT & OIDIA) remains much more impactful than anything Adele has done.

I did grow up in Britney's reign actually, and it's as overhyped as they get, she was no different from the Spice Girls or the Backstreet Boys, infact she was just living off the impact that they made.

You just proved my point, you only mentioned the
SONG. What about the album itself and the era? Completely pails compared to 21.
Oops! Was a front-forward single that was coming off the back of a huge debut era, so obviously it's debut positions would always go well, but as you can see it didn't have longevity like Britney's BOMT singles. Yes the video was iconic, but that was the only thing memorable about that era.
