Poll: Why couldn't Gaga get a Top 10 hit with DWUW?

The song is a pop sounding smash that had a lot of multi-format appeal. It received 2 remixes in order to fit on Urban stations (Rick Ross) and Pop/AC stations (Christina Aguilera) and had an original version which would mesh perfectly well on Pop and Rhythmic radios. It had 3 high profile performances in the United States, one with another major artist who is popular right now.

A music video obviously was never released, but is that really the sole reason why this song could not grace the top 10?

Options:

1. No music video.
2. Not enough promo.
3. Gaga's image is damaged and led to the song flopping.
4. R. Kelly's image is damaged and led to the song flopping.

It certainly had enough promo and radio tried it. The public was just not here for it. R. Kelly can't be to blame because the remix with Christina Aguilera (Queen of Hit Features) did even worse than the original. The lack of a music video hurt it, but it probably still wouldn't have been Top 10.

It's that one-two punch of both Gaga and R. Kelly's images being damaged I believe.

The failure to release a music video was annoying, but probably would not have made the song reach the top 10.

#3 actually makes me think that anything she releases at this point will have a similar chart performance.

It's R Kelly's fault.

The song was a hit in Canada and they basically have the same tastes as USA, except they don't have the same aversion to R Kelly there because he's not as relevant there

No music video with slight fault from R. Kelly. Gaga is fading but her image is not "damaged", bye.

It was horribly promoted, the performances had so much time between them, no music video and a horrible way of promoting the X duet.

She could have EASILY made it a top 10 single but I blame no one but Gaga especially after the music video being late excuse she tried.

Not having a video really hurt it IMO. With the new streaming rules, a video could have boosted it to the top 10.

The remix got limited airplay and was released too late.

If anyone will share the blame with Gaga it's R Kelly

Streams from the MV would have pushed the song to the lower Top-10 easily. It was stable in the mid-20s for a few weeks.

It's definitely not boring. If that's boring then what are Royals, Stay, etc?

It's obviously because she had no music video. Had she released a music video during any of the times when the song was hovering in the Top 15 on iTunes, it would have reached the 8-10
