The concept of the TEOG video wasn't bad because it's a very 80's Billie Jean throwback. The reason why I'm annoyed I didn't get mermaids was that the execution of what we got was terrible.

Mermaids with TEOG would have been a trainwreck, though I do wish it had a blockbuster MV because it's probably the MV I noticed most played on music channels from the BTW era. BTW's MV was well executed but the concept was too weird for it to be viral, not to mention too long an intro.

It actually did get a lot of great reviews when it debuted. Lots of people kept lauding it for being unexpectedly simple, though we can attribute some of that to Gaga's can-do-nothing-wrong power in the first half of 2011
she tried though.and that's all that matter.
Plus she looks hideous in the video
