Leona is good... but it's nothing we never seen before... she's a mix of Mariah and Toni Braxton... but that's it! she's very talented but nothing fresh... if she was on today's American Idol she would probably end up at 5th or 4th place... but that's it... we already have Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood on the same spot as Leona... let's see if she can keep up...

Mariah is not what she used to be but she still very very good and deserve to be where she is right because she keeps doing her thing and always deliver... she is already established in the music industry... she already a legend just like Madonna, Whitney, Aretha, Celine...

First of all, as far as I'm concerned, the Music Forum is not only about news. Topics and personal opinions about music like this can be discussed here, too. So I think the thread is in the right place.

Secondly, I think, you thread starter, is awfully wrong. I dislike Leona as a person. I just think she has a bland and dull personality, HOWEVER; this girl is insanely talented and she has an incredible strong yet smooth-to-ear voice. Saying that she's not talented is pathetic and complete nonsense. And a further proof that she's a real talent is that she's being compared to the best voices of all time like Mariah and Whitney. So I think you're really contradicting yourself here. One more thing that I dare to say is that, at the very moment, her live performances are almost CD perfect and better than Mariah's (SNL performance).
