I can't speak for other people, but I do not like him or respect him for the simple fact that he is the exact type of dude that I can't stand: an arrogant douchebag who thinks the world owes them something because of some false sense of entitlement. I used to love him, and would defend him when people would say he couldn't sing, or that he was gay because of his haircut or his voice when it was higher pitched, or just being stupid about him in general. it wasn't until he started acting like a f***ing fool that I started to hate him, as I would any other person who'd have done anything he has.
furthermore, I have a younger sister who adores him and legitimately makes excuses for the bulls*** he does, and I f***ing HATE that he has that affect on younger girls. it makes me feel that they are willing to excuse that type of behavior in other boys as well, and I worry about what kind of dudes they're going to end up with if they've got that mindset.
it's really a shame because he is a very talented singer, but he's consciously choosing to f*** it up for himself and then wants to turn around and say we should respect him and that he's growing up. if you want people to treat you like an adult, then f***ing act like one and stop doing idiotic s***.
He's over exposed, says outrageous things, he's conceded, makes annoying music and has an obnoxious fan base. It all combines to just make him incredibly unlikable tbh. I'm not trying to shade or be offensive, that's just how I see it
