I was a bit confused and pressed as to why Key would be the first SHINee member to be in a proper subunit (not the SM 'subunits' for one off songs) but I'm fine now that I remembered this:
That Keyhyun unit is seemingly out of nowhere but it makes slightly more sense if you know that they're really close friends so it's probably been considered before.
Still, a legitimate SHINee subunit would've been nice. I lust after rock-Jongtae.
I hope Sweetune produces for them!
