It's just... it's a decent track and all, but she can do so, so much better. TEOG is one of my favorite songs ever, and Gypsy feels like a watered-down ripoff. The "I'm I'm I'm imimimim a gypsyppspspspy imimim a" part drives me absolutely nuts, the production isn't as good as I expected from Madeon*, and the countries at the end are cute but feel like a grocery shopping list. Plus Gypsy as a concept just isn't that great imo; too easy. She's done easy metaphors before (Paparazzi) but with a lot more depth.
Love the bridge though (reminds me of The Queen actually, a lame song with a fantastic bridge). "It's the way you love and treat your mother" >>>>>>>
*I'm still so pissed that the Madeon tracks ended up being my least favorite. I love his solo work, I was soooooo pumped for his songs! MJH is awesome but too noisy, it gives me a headache if I don't turn down the volume quite a bit.
