Lorne Michaels, executive producer of “Saturday Night Live,” on Thursday named Colin Jost to be the new co-anchor of the program’s Weekend Update segment, replacing Seth Meyers.

Mr. Jost, who is also the program’s head writer, will join Cecily Strong, who began as co-anchor at the start of the current season. Mr. Meyers will move on next month to replace Jimmy Fallon as host of NBC’s “Late Night'’ program.

Mr. Jost has been a longtime writer for the Weekend Update segment and also performs as a stand-up comedian.

Should be interesting. Just when I was getting used to the Seth/Cecily dynamic though.

Seth is my CutiePie, no.

As much as I love Cecily, I didn't know how well she could hold the show on her own. I'm excited to see them together.
