r. kelly is a saboteur. he had that song outrageous with britney and that's the video that got scrapped because she broke her knee on set.
He also Had Ignition (Remix) a year before Outrageous which was the biggest hit of his career since his debut; It's obvious why her team chose Kells.
GaGa choosing Kelly was totally left field. I assume it was because of "Bump n Grind" and 'Feelin' On Your Booty." He didn't sabotage the song. That was GaGa her self.
