I don't want to be shady, or bring up Beyonce because at times I really root for the good sis, but can we talk about Partition/Drunk In Love for a second? Can you imagine if Rih had done a song about giving blowjobs in the back of limos? About grinding/graining on that wood? Both of those songs are BOPS, but I know Rihanna would be torn apart over them. By haters, by critics, by the GP alike. Rihanna is a mid-20's single woman but somehow sex is something she shouldn't talk about, especially in the "raunchy" way she does it. And yet her peers get away with it easily. Hell, Rihanna would've gotten ridiculed for something like "Come & Get It." She would've been called a *****, hoe, etc.
I still feel like "Suck my cockiness, lick my persuasion" was never given it's fair amount of props. It's a clever, confident line that Rihanna delivers perfectly. Yet she was accused of being TOO suggestive and TOO sexual. Is it because she doesn't have a husband? Is it because she's not bashful about her sexuality and let's the GP know it? I want answers!
