Yes I do realize we got alot of pop hits during this time , However I think alot of people
will (& slowly are ragging on at the moment) the cheese factor of the late 00s early 10s
pop landscape. Even with fashion like the early 2010s such as neon and dubstep commercials
in everything. It just screams cheese.


It is safe to say we are out of that era. However it will never be forgotten.

I'd describe it as more gimmicky/shock factor obsessed. Pop has chilled out since then... and thank God, cause it was getting pretty tacky.

Nah I think this era will be looked upon as the time where EVERYONE was using shock tactics (as someone has already said) to out-do each other, rather than being the "cheesy era". That was taken and done better (or worse, depending on your viewpoint ) in the late 90s/early 00s.

The very idea of pop music in general is cheesy and gimmicky. That's why a lot of people (including myself) like it.

1997-2002 was definitely far more cheesy.
