It made me think about how David O Russel and Chris Nolan are almost opposites in their approach. Nolan makes these ****ing brilliant films, but he doesn't think about the actor, and thusly there are rarely any standout performances. Just a good film.
O Russell somehow does the opposite. He fills his films with these mind blowing performances from the actors, but the films themselves are just ok. American Hustle had the performances of their careers from the likes of Bale, Cooper, and Lawrence. Film itself if cute, nothing more.
"American Hustle" is boring, overrated trash. Jennifer Lawrence was the worst actress in the movie, giving a terrible Jersey accent she couldn't even maintain throughout the entire film. If voters have any dignity or common sense, this film will receive zero awards at The Golden Globes or The Oscars. If it does receive awards, then you'll finally have your answer to the question: "Can celebrities and directors buy their Oscar?"
Honestly a lot of people are telling me they weren't feeling this. Not trying to say it isn't great because there's a lot of great reception but it's definitely not for everyone. Glad the actors got Golden Globes (even though I wanted Lupita over Lawrence) but I wish the best picture award went to someone else.
I still haven't seen this yet My stupid city isn't showing it in any theaters. I don't understand it. Same thing with Wolf of Wall Street which I also wanted to see
I went to theaters thinking it was gonna be about drugs, sex, perversion, mobs ect.) kinda like Summer Of Sam, Boogie Nights and Studio 54...
J. Law is the truth though. Her performance alone was worth the $12

Are you guys serious? This movie is amazing! It blended comedy, drama and romance so well. I loved the unconventional structure of the movie and the characters were fantastic and fantastically acted.

The movie is amazing and it deserves all the praise and acclaim it's receiving. It's a shame when people bash on something just to be contrarian.
