That's a standard release for the UK. They will let the airplay and interest for a song build up over the weeks and repress the sales until the song is released.
But if your question was more about why they cancelled my guess would be because the song failed to take off in the States. After it didn't become a hit I don't think they had any interest in pushing it further. Oath and none of the other US edition tracks were ever released here either which is a bit weird. We also don't know what's going on with her UK label because she said she has left Syco. Her UK career is just a mess right now, and it's pretty clear that her focus is the US.
