Anyways, It's interesting to me how when Madonna fans post in this thread with a well thought out reasonable comments and the gaga fans say things like "calm down, it isn't that serious" and post Mariah shades.
Well, that entire circumstance speaks volumes, that's what the respect Madonna deserves is to you gaga fan's isn't it - A joke. Something to take lightly and to be made fun of.
You know, there would be no gaga without Madonna.
Madonna openly embraced the gay culture in her work 30 years ago. She is partly responsible for the transition of aspects of the gay community from subculture into mainstream culture.
30 years ago, Madonna was already sending a message of equality for all in her work, including gays, lesbians, bi; she addressed feminism, humanism, Latino immigrants - everything that's important to you now and she did it when the American media turned its back on those issues.
Madonna was the face and name of several gay-related causes, while people like Elton John was in the closet, avoiding any association with the gay community because of the career damage it would do.
Madonna does not get the respect she deserves on ATRL
