LOL I finally figured out your avatar. I thought that was Amy Winehouse with a man's body!! The way the picture is angled, the guy's hair looks like Amy's beehive. Is it just me or did no one else confuse the picture of the pole (or whatever that black object is) behind the guy as part of his head?

Fifi Awards Semi-finalists 2008

The Fragrance Foundation has announced the semi-finalists for the 2008 Fifi Awards, known as the "Oscars of the fragrance industry". Note that some categories show more than 10 fragrances because of tied votes, and unisex fragrances can appear in more than one category. The distinction between the categories "nouveau niche" and "luxe" is simply in how widely distributed the fragrances are (it has nothing to do with price or any other factor).

Each category will be whittled down to 5 fragrances at the Fifi Finalists Breakfast on April 25th; the final awards will be presented in May. The award statue is shown at right. And the finalists are:

In both Kinsey and Dreamgirls, what was it like working with out writer-director Bill Condon, who displays such a strong gay sensibility in his work?
It never came up in specifics, but I just love him and his sensibility to death. How calming and sweet he is was especially incredible for me since Kinsey was my first movie. I felt so well taken care of. I also feel like that sensitivity, not that it’s necessarily stereotypical, was vital in presenting such edgy material -- in Kinsey, I mean. Not Dreamgirls. The juiciest Beyoncé story I have isn’t juicy at all. I was backstage at Saturday Night Live and she was standing next to Jay-Z, who is probably the person who can intimidate me the most. I’m so very rarely starstruck, and starstruck doesn’t even begin to describe it. Then she looked towards me, and I was sure that she would have no reason to remember who I was, and she was like, “Hey, how you doing? That was such a fun scene!” And that was one of those moments where I was like, That’s cool. That feels like I’ve made it. She was nice to completely BS her way through that moment.

You didn’t think you were on her radar?
No way. Who’s on Beyoncé’s radar? She’s from another planet. I feel like she’s the hardest-working person I’ve ever known. I don’t even know how she has time for us little people.

Gabrielle Union was spotted looking fabulous as usual on the set of Cadillac Records today in Jersey. She rocked her 50’s hairstyle for the movie and was on her way to wardobe. Apparently, she’s been added to the co-star line up with Beyonce who is playing Etta James, Columbus Short who is playing Little Walter, and others. I don’t know why they were trying to keep her role a secret. Chick needs to be shouting this new job from some damn rooftops.

Packer set to shoot new film starring Beyonce



FAMU graduate Will Packer and his Rainforest Films are preparing to shoot a new thriller starring Beyonce Knowles called “Obsessed”. Along with Knowles, the movie will include Ali Larter and Idris Elba Filming is set to begin on May 5 with the movie making its big screen debut in 2009.

Knowles would play the wife of an asset manager (Elba) who finds he’s being stalked by an office temp (Larter).

Packer is also planning to produce an urban remake of “The Big Chill” later this fall.
