MIDWAY:
On one of the remotest islands on our planet, tens of thousands of baby albatrosses lie dead on the ground, their bodies filled with plastic from the Pacific Garbage Patch. Returning to the island over several years, our team is witnessing the cycles of life and death of these birds as a multi-layered metaphor for our times.
Garbage is also killing whales and dolphins regularly
That video was depressing.
Though seagulls are known to fly around city dumps and they mooch of people during the summers along the shore.. They ask for it, and not to downplay their situation, because it truly is awful, but seagulls really don't know any better but to eat a damn lighter. This is why Pigeons are considered one of the most intelligent birds on earth, and it's mainly because they live in over-packed, polluted cities full of people. Street smarts. Seagulls are among the dumbest.
Now the whales, the dolphins, and the many fish that suffer from oil spills, toxic/medical waste etc is a damn shame. It's only going to get worst I'm afraid.
This is horrible. We either have to phase out plastic or keep it contained within a technical cycle so that they never come into contact with the environment. We are by far the most harmful species this planet has ever seen and the constant refusal to accept it and change is going to doom us all
