Hung Up pushed the album to 10-12 million copies worldwide (I've heard 12m but I'm not sure if its reliable), in only the first few months it sold 6.3 million copies because of how hard the single was slaying. Reciepts:

It was an absolute mega smash, only in the US it was merely a hit (outsold We Belong Together though!). It doesn't surprise me some here would try to discredit its success since most of ATRL is from America and they didn't experience how that song was ****ing SLAYING in late 2005/early 2006. It was an anthem, heard it on TV, in clubs, in restaurants, out of random cars, at parties, etc. Absolute smash and one look at the chart positions are all the receipts you need.
