Thing is the VMAs and AMAs performances were actually great, especially the latter. The VMAs bore Miley to the level of 2010 Gaga for three months, and the AMAs were good but needed more DWUW promo after and a MV to keep the momentum going. Instead Gaga went to Japan and performed Applause 3 times.

Ugh imagine if she released the video after the AMA performance

Imagine if she released the MV and it was terrible and we were all like "Oh I wish Gaga just didn't release an MV because it's caused DWUW to flop."

The UK will stan for ha if she delivers bops. Even after that mess of a Venus/DWUW performance on X Factor we sent DWUW to the top 10 for a good few weeks, receipts for which would be readily available had that silly rule not impacted it's run. And that was all without a video which is pretty good promotion over here
