Imagine if LP5 was just titled "Swift", and the CD had two sides, with the first side called "Taylor" talking about the personal part of her life besides relationships, and the second side called "Swift", talking about relationships.

I reread The Giver.
In relative terms, she probably has the most interesting female role. But she's only talked about rather than appearing, and for a total of 3 pages or so.

Still, it's more interesting than: a girl who he's friends with and he dreams about bathing with her, his mom who doesn't do much of anything, his bratty but cute little sister, or the chief elder who just presides over a ceremony announcing the future jobs of various people (almost like a graduation). Only Jonas and the Giver have theoretically meaty roles.
