It's terrible, and can totally destroy the affected person's self esteem and self worth.
It's just as bad as telling someone with a mental illness to "toughen up", "it's a choice", "you can control this"
Those people should watch Silver Linings Playbook.
they shouldn't. that movie trivialises mental illness as something that can be solved with ''love'' so people who who already mock mental illness will take it even less seriously after watching it
