Adele was in a perfect storm at te Grammys two years ago. She was up for 3 of the 4 biggest awards (in addition to 3 other ones), won them all, performed her signature hit,had a #1 album and single leading into the ceremony (in addition to RITD and SLY which were nominated). You can't get any better than that.
