While his gorgeous wife is VERY talented (Great singer and performer), I have yet to see the fuss about Jay Z's rapping. It just seems basic and it doesnt stand out like Eminem or Nicki. Is it because of the lyrics?

I know some will think I'm trolling, but Pitbull (dumb lyrics apart) is much more memorable and has an iconic way of rapping.

Yes! I just can't get into his music. There are a few exceptions here and there, but he is extremely overrated to a point where its a annoying.

For me, I have a hard time getting into him. I've tried out his discography and I don't hear anything special, but I do think that he couldn't survive as long as he has without being good.

His flow is amazing. Probably the best in my book. His discography is quite solid as well although MCHG got me disappointed eventually. I really liked it at first listen but the succeeding listens made me think it's his weakest yet (not including WTT)

Firsty, Pitbull has nothing as memorable as Empire State of Mind, 99 Problems, Big Pimpin', (as well as memorable features), nor does he have any memorable albums even close to touching Reasonable Doubt, The Black Album or The Blueprint.

Secondly, as you've already pointed out, it is not necessarily his style that the fuss is over, although he does have a very distinctive style. His lyrics are often genius with clever lines, a clear sense of wit and understanding of language through wordplay, often even utilizing triple entendres which is no easy feat.

95% of his music is unlistenable to me, I can handle his Rihanna features but that's about it.

Most modern rap songs today are made by the hook though. That's why they're called the HOOK.
