This is the only song that is currently performing much better on streaming than on sales (#2 Streaming Songs, and the video's been #1 on VEVO for the past 2 weeks). It has strong urban & rhythmic airplay, but it's lacking the strong sales & pop airplay it needs to be a bonafide top ten hit.
Could a performance on the Grammy Awards bring Beyonce that long awaited top 5 hit she's needed?
It could but it needs to be heavily played on pop for that to happen. The Urban audience are not big Itunes/singles buyers, at least not as much as pop buyers.
at this being her weakest lead single. Only CIL and DV rival DIL.
It also reached Top 60 on Pop. If "Dark Horse" can make moves on Pop, this can.
Dark Horse has a clear pop structure and melody though. Drunk In Love has some unusual structure and doesn't really have clear melodies/rap-spoken melodies
