If ARTPOP has the commercial success of BEYONCE, and vice versa, would ATRL love Gaga's album more and Bey's less?

I don't think so. Obviously there are people here who only stan for success and charts, but I think that a majority would still have the same opinion about both albums even if the roles were reversed. A bad album is still a bad album, you know?

Well BEYONCÉ is also 86 on Metacritic, and it's production as a whole is much more coherent and listenable than ARTPOP.

There's this person who praised Artpop over Prism like it's the best album ever, and in a recent thread, she said she couldn't find anything good to say about Artpop (which is also the inspiration for this thread of mine)

Everyone would say that Beyonce is incapable of making hit songs and that Gaga made generic music so it was bound to succeed. Loads more people would love it as evidenced by that landslide Artpop vs Prism poll

I just don't like ARTPOP as a whole. And TBH I rarely Stan for successful albums or People. My 3 faves artists are Beyonce, Cheryl & Shawn Desman.

I remember when I said I hated it, those girls would come for me and tell me how basic my taste was... And those same girls are dragging it to the pits now.

I honestly dislike Gaga, but I think Artpop is an enjoyable album. It is at least better than BTW.
